Since 1972, Roland has worked to create the ultimate piano experience, and our current HP pianos are among the most exciting yet. The HP piano philosophy is all about bringing the sound and performance of a concert-class piano into your living, teaching, or recital space, with modern connectivity and cabinet color choices to suit your lifestyle. The HP603A is powered by the latest version of our acclaimed SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling technology, along with a unique keyboard that blends wood and molded materials for great feel and durability. With its sophisticated elegance, the classically styled HP603/HP603A will definitely make a big impact in your home, studio, or venue, especially with a choice of finishes including contemporary rosewood, contemporary black, and white.
Both the HP603A feature built-in wireless Bluetooth® MIDI support for working with apps like Roland’s Piano Partner 2 and Piano Designer on your smartphone or tablet. The HP603A also includes Bluetooth audio support, allowing you to wirelessly stream music from your mobile device through the piano’s integrated sound system.
Press a key on most digital pianos and you’ll hear a recording of a piano note. But a SuperNATURAL Piano works differently, using the latest modeling technology to recreate, rather than replay, the sound. Our unique modeling process spans the entire sound-creation process of a typical piano, including the combination of notes played, their resonances, and the way in which the piano’s many elements interact with each other. The result is a rich, complex sound — complete with overtones — that actually changes in response to the way you play, something that’s impossible to achieve when a piano uses samples. It’s the difference between just listening back to a recording or actually being there yourself.
One of the great advantages of a digital piano is the ability to play quietly with headphones. However, when used with headphones, some digital pianos simply switch the sound from the speakers to your ears. This is a missed opportunity, as good headphones can provide remarkable clarity and detail when you’re practicing. Roland pianos use Headphones 3D Ambience to optimize the audio so it sounds like it’s coming from within the piano itself, not through your headphones. This provides a very natural and immersive experience, and enables you to practice for extended periods of time without fatigue, any time of the day or night.
Today, people often play and learn the piano with the aid of smartphones and tablets. Using Bluetooth technology, the HP603A wirelessly connects to your mobile device, enabling you to take advantage of popular iOS/Android MIDI music apps. Roland’s unique Piano Partner 2 app shows digital notation for the piano’s internal songs, and you can even turn pages with the pedals. It also provides a variety of fun backing rhythms to build your timing, plus lots of useful practice tools and more. And with the Piano Designer app, you can access the piano’s powerful Piano Designer functions from the convenience of your device’s touch display.
Bluetooth audio lets you wirelessly stream audio from a smartphone or tablet directly through the HP603A’s integrated sound system. You can play along with songs from your music library or online sites, and have a more connected experience with all the great piano education content that’s available on the web. And when you just want to relax, the HP603A’s high-quality speaker system delivers rich stereo sound for simple listening enjoyment.
